Faculty
GCU has a variety of resources available to faculty looking to contribute their expertise not just inside the classroom, but also to the wider academic community. Faculty have opportunities to pursue grant funding, benefit from the expertise of senior researchers, join research circles, become a mentor, complete Research Ready Certificates, benefit from Library services, publish in academic journals, review research tutorials, and take advantage of a host of other programs.
GCU Library
It isn't just for finding articles! The GCU Library provides expert research and reference assistance to the scholarly community. In addition to interlibrary loan, journal selection guidance, citation management strategies and assistance with literature search strategies, the library provides support through several programs specifically developed for researchers. Among these are: Ask-A-Librarian for personalized assistance with creating effective search strategies for research topics, database navigation, resource tools, including RefWorks & EndNote Web, personalized database accounts, search alerts, citation formatting, persistent links, and more; and, Research Guides, which lists by topic of resources available in the Library and on the Internet to help you improve professional and technical writing skills.
CIRT
The Center for Innovation in Research and Teaching specializes in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), but also offers general research assistance. One of our most popular resources is Research Ready. We have more than 20 asynchronous, self paced, training modules to help make sense of research concepts like developing a literature review, designing a survey, qualitative and quantitative methods, writing for publication, preparing for a presentation and more! We also offer opportunities to join Peer Review Boards or to publish in one of GCU's academic journals: Journal of Instructional Research (JIR), Journal of Educators Online (JEO), Journal of Scholarly Engagement (JSE), Canyon Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies (CJIS). We also host SoTL conferences, Writing Retreats, THINK & INK writing cohorts, offer one on one research consultations, and other programs aimed to help you develop your research.
CIRT also offers Scholarly Engagement Grants for faculty seeking assistance presenting research at academic conferences and Research Grants for faculty with certain research associated costs.
